NEIL NORMAN in charge of production for GNP/Crescendo Records, is a widely diversified player in the music industry. The award-wining record producer is a driving force in bringing very intriguing genres of music to the GNP/Crescendo record label. These include world beat, rock’n roll, surf and power instrumental, state of the art reissues, and especially Science Fiction.

Neil’s record producing ability has re-ignited the careers of legends and sent many on a legendary path which includes, The Ventures, Surfaris, Grammy winner Queen Ida, Gamma (Ronnie Montrose/Davey Pattison), Robin Trower, Savoy Brown, and REO Speedwagon/guitarist Gary Richrath, two-time Emmy winner Dennis McCarthy, Jay Chattaway, Jerry Goldsmith, Alexander Courage, and many more.

Neil Norman began guitar session work while still in high school, eventually playing on over one-hundred albums with groups including The Monkees, Arthur Lyman, Les Baxter, and dozens of others. Neil played on his first record when he was only sixteen and released his own records before the age of twenty-one. Norman also lived in London, where he played and produced on many sessions. He now has over fifty successful albums to his credit as producer or artist and Neil Norman's sales are now in the millions.

As a student at the prestigious UCLA Film School, Norman scored many of his fellow student’s film projects. He experimented with guitars and synthesizers for screen projects of all genres. His love for Sci-Fi and film scoring led to his first solo album, "Not Of This Earth," recorded mostly while in college. Later he toured with his band, wearing outlandish space costumes and employing pioneering futuristic special effects on stage. As a follow up, Neil recorded the immensely successful "Greatest Science Fiction Hits" series, his interpretations of the most exiting Sci-Fi music from his favorite movies and TV shows. Neil is now collaborating with Emmy-winning Star Trek composer Dennis McCarthy on volume four, now in production.

Neil has also been the executive producer for over twenty award-winning Star Trek albums, which include the worldwide box office smash "Generations," and the Emmy-winner, "Voyager." He was also executive producer of the number-one worldwide box office hit, "Star Trek VIII-First Contact" soundtrack featuring Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith. He again reprised his role as executive album producer on the new feature, "Star Trek Nine".

Norman’s most recent productions for GNP/Crescendo include, "Quantum Leap," "Mission Impossible," "The Outer Limits" and Emmy-winner "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," and a colossal six CD box -set, "The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen," music from Academy Award winning composers John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith, including "Lost In Space," "Time Tunnel," "Voyage to the bottom of the Sea," and "Land of the Giants," and the Ventures new album "New Depths".

Neil also released his Cosmic Orchestra’s CD featuring "The X Files," "Babylon," and "Star Wars". In early 1998 Neil released "Star Trek Encounters" which features his Cosmic Orchestra. In addition he also released "The James Bond Theme," Triple Feature, featuring NEIL NORMAN AND HIS COSMIC ORCHESTRA, BILLY STRANGE, and THE VENTURES.

Neil Norman And His Cosmic Orchestra will be appearing on selected dates in the United States, South America, Europe, and Japan, performing the entire history of Sci-Fi music. Neil recently performed at the grand opening of the multimillion dollar attraction "Star Trek The Experience" at the Las Vegas Hilton in January of 1998.

Today, Neil and the Cosmic Orchestra continue to tour internationally and perform for all types of concerts, Sci-Fi related events and TV shows. They perform regularly at Creation Entertainment’s annual Grand Slam conventions and at Laserium in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. Neil Norman & His Cosmic Orchestra, featuring Tim Russ (Tuvok of Star Trek Voyager) also performed at Fandom's Halloween Grand Opening party produced by executive producer Jim Facey of Jim Facey Productions.

The Cosmic Orchestra has appeared on many television programs including TALK SOUP, SCI-FI BUZZ, CBS THIS MORNING and overseas on the highly rated British morning show THE BIG BREAKFAST.

Neil hopes to do more to help promote STAR TREK in the future, both in personal appearances as well as future soundtrack albums. His ultimate goal is to produce Science Fiction movies, utilizing his many talents as a producer and musician. For now though, The Cosmic Orchestra is one outfit that is definitely not to be missed. They will rock you to the next galaxy and beyond!
