Biography of Sheryl Lynn

Raised in Minnesota, Sheryl Lynn knew she wanted to be a country singer at the age of six. Her mother played the violin and steel guitar, and her father sang and played the guitar and accordion.

"The house was always full of music," says Sheryl. "Whether it was Mom playing her fiddle or Dad singing and playing with his buddies," Sheryl can’t think of her life without thinking of music.

Sheryl began singing on stage with her father at the young age of 17 and by the time she was 18, she was performing with professional bands. Sheryl Lynn has performed with or opened for many favorite country music performers, including Mark Chesnutt, Dan Seals, Darrell and Don Ellis, Confederate Railroad and Freddy Fender.

Sheryl Lynn’s refreshingly honest, gutsy and emotional voice is a product of her long love affair with country music. Her intimate knowledge of classic country and western music can be heard in her tender reminiscence of Patsy Cline and seasoned by the same kind of sweet sensuality of Reba McEntyre.

Sheryl Lynn’s recently recorded original, "Straighten Up and Love Right", the title song on Sheryl’s CD, has received rave reviews and is receiving international air play. The influence of the great classics can be sensed in the interpretations Sheryl gives to the lyrics of the songs she sings. She spellbinds her audiences with her tenderness, honesty, and her genuinely strong love of both the music and the people.
